Open Court, Balaclava

Located in inner-suburban Balaclava, Open Court is a fascinating commercial development by 94 Feet. The flexible work spaces throughout the building combine with a communal rooftop open space to provide functional and multi-purpose business opportunities for the local community.

Davidson Design Studio was part of the collaborative team, including WMK Architecture and Techne Interiors, to create an active rooftop that includes a sports court, outdoor seating, and planting opportunities within an urban environment.

The challenge of creating a green space in the harsh climatic conditions of a rooftop was embraced by the Davidson Design Studio team with the selection of key plant species and location of lightweight planters that become a part of the architectural form.

The finishing touches to the sports court, provided by Art Courts Australia and Kevin Gold, create a stunning and one-of-a-kind rooftop space.
